The study aimed to explore the effectiveness of eclectic counseling program in decreasing academic procrastination level among post-primary students in Dhofar governorate. The sample of the experimental study consisted of (30) female students who obtained the highest scores on the scale of academic procrastination, which divided into two equivalent groups, experimental group and the control group, each of them is (15) female students. The study used the semi-experimental method. The tools of the study included the scale of academic procrastination and the counseling program, which was applied on the experimental group in 12 extension sessions between 45-60 minutes. The study scale was applied to the experimental and control groups before and after the application of the counseling program. As well as on the experimental group after a follow-up period (one month after the end of the program application). The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean rank scores of the experimental group and control group in the post-test on the academic procrastination scale in direction of the experimental group. Also, there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the mean rank scores of the experimental group in the post-test and pre-test on the scale of academic procrastination in direction of the post-test. This confirms the effectiveness of the counseling program in decreasing academic procrastination level among the study sample. The results also indicated that there were not statistically significant differences between the mean rank scores of the experimental group scores in the post-test and follow up test (one month after the end of the program application) on the scale of academic procrastination. Which emphasize the continuity of the effectiveness of the program. (Published abstract)
