The study aims to evaluate the work-study program in Saudi universities based on the experience of other countries, by identifying the concept and objectives of the work-study program in Saudi universities, its regulations and restrictions, its problems, and the experience of other countries to improve the program. To achieve this goal, the researcher uses the content analytic approach to examine a sample of the internet sites of work-study program in Saudi, Arab, and foreign universities; to examine its regulations and restrictions, and to conduct interviews with 22 Saudi deans of student affairs, and the administrators of student funds to determine the program’s problem. The main results are as follows: 1) The concept and objectives of the work-study program in Saudi universities are nearly the same. 2) There is a work-study regulations issued by higher education, but the details and restrictions of the program are different among Saudi universities. 3) The most problems facing the program are: the limited fees per hour for the program, delay of paying the fees to students, short working hours in the semester, prevention of student working in summer semester and vacations, restricting work inside the campus only, weak evaluation system or improvement for the program. 4) Some good practices are drawn from the experience of other countries to be applied in the work-study program in Saudi Arabia. 5) The study ended with some recommendations for improving the program.
