The purpose of this study is to identify differences in psychological variables optimism/ pessimism and self-confidence between university high and low creative thinking students. The sample of the study consisted of 140 students in fourth level at faculty of education of Sadat city, split up for quartiles according to their degrees in Torrance test of creative thinking for acquiring high and low creative thinking, half of them high creative thinking and half of them low creative thinking. The current study used the following tools: optimism/ pessimism scale (prepared by researcher), self-confidence scale (prepared by researcher) and Torrance test of creative thinking using words e.g: figure A (prepared by Poul Torrance, prepared for Arabic by Abd Allah Soliman and Foud Abo Hatab 1971(. The researcher used the descriptive method: (comparative style and correlation style) and the SPSS version 22 statistical package for social sciences program to perform the following statistical treatment means and standard deviations, Pearson correlation, Independent sample T test. The current study revealed the following results: there is a positive correlation with statistically significant between optimism/ pessimism and creative thinking, between self-confidence and creative thinking. There are significant differences between university students with high and low creative thinking on optimism/ pessimism and self confidence in favor of students with high creative thinking.
