المواصفات المتطلبة لمعلمات رياض الأطفال في كليات التربية بالمملكة العربية السعودية في ضوء معايير (naeyc)
The present study aimed to prepare a list of the characteristics required for the kindergarten teacher in light of the NAEYC standards in the colleges of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study sample consisted of (9) faculty members (kindergarten specialization), and (8) specialists in curriculum development (kindergarten), and (11) educational supervisors (kindergarten), and (12) kindergarten teachers; consequently the number of the study sample was (40). The study adopted the descriptive approach, and the study developed a questionnaire to collect the target data. The results of the study displayed a list of the characteristics of the kindergarten teacher in the light of the (NAEYC) standards. The study participants agreed on the characteristics of the kindergarten teacher in the College of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely knowledge of the growth and learning of the child and his characteristics, knowledge of analyzing and evaluating the kindergarten curricula, knowledge of the foundations of teaching kindergarten, using effective developmental trends to communicate with children and their families, using cognitive content to develop a comprehensive curriculum, observation, documentation, and measurement to support young children and their families, effective educational practices and self-development of the graduate, building relationships with both family and society and finally the graduate’s role in the professional development. The sample members’ agreement on their different specializations was the characteristics in total, which should be the kindergarten teacher in colleges of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
