إستخراج الخصائص السيكومترية لمقياس كارول ريف للرفاه النفسي عند عينة من طلبة الجامعة الأردنية في عمان

The objective of this research was to standardize Carol Ryff’s scales of psychological well-being (PWBS) to the Jordanian population. For that reason, it was necessary to first translate the scale into the Arabic language. Then to assess the psychometric properties of the scales on a sample from the University of Jordan. Four hundred and eighty-five University of Jordan students participated in the study; 90 of them were recruited only for exploratory purposes. Roughly a third of the sample were males, namely because of the “natural” distribution of males in the university. Results showed that the Arabic version of PWBS possesses content validity. They also showed that the scale correlated positively with two scales of subjective well-being, with scores ranging between 0.6 - 0.79, scores also correlated negatively with a scale of anxiety and a scale of depression as scores ranged from 0.66-0.76. Test re-test reliability was 0.87, and internal consistency reached 0.94. From investigating relationships between the scale and subscales it also appears that the scale possesses construct validity. Generally, this study provides an Arabic version of Ryffs scales of psychological well-being that is valid and reliable. (Author's abstract)
