إتجاهات البحث العلمي في العلوم الاجتماعية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة خلال ربع قرن : دراسة تحليلية لمجلة شؤون اجتماعية (1984 - 2008)
The objective of this research is to review the trends of scientific social research in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) via an analytical study of the Journal of Social Affairs (JSA). The JSA is a referred journal published by the Sociological Association of the UAE. The study covers the period 1984 - 2008, i.e. from issue 1 to issue 100. The JSA is considered as one of the most reputed referred journals in the UAE. The study tried to assess the features and characteristics of the JSA line of thought, its policies and objectives. The study also tried to understand the demographic and professional attributes of the authors, the contribution of the Higher Education institutions from the UAE, the GCC and Arab Countries to the articles published in the JSA. The research equally tried to review the local and regional coverage of the articles published in the Journal. To conclude, the research proposed some relevant recommendations to promote the JSA and its readership. (Published abstract)
