This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of a behavioral intervention program on reducing behavioral problems among educable mentally retarded students. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers developed an intervention program to improve the behaviors of the participants. The sample of this study consists of 12 students. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups (experimental and control). They aged between 7-10 years. The average age was 8.75 and the SD was 1.13, and the average of their IQ ranged from 55-69. The researchers used Bariks scale as pre-post test which has been adapted by Qaryouti and Jarrar 1987. Mann- Whitne, Z score and Wilcoxon were used for data analysis. The results indicated that there was a significant difference between experimental and control group in favor of the experimental group. Accordingly, the study recommends the need to implement behavior programs based on behavior analysis techniques to reduce behavioral problems among students with disabilities. (Published abstract)
