This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of two methods of cognitive behavioral guidance in developing the social intelligence among the preparatory schoolgirls through building these two guidance methods which are the modeling method and the stories method. The following hypotheses are established to be achieved: 1) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the first experimental group (modeling method) according to the test variable (pre-post). 2) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the second experimental group (stories method) according to the test variable (pre-post). 3) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the control group according to the test variable (pre-post). 4) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the first group members (modeling method) and the control group in the post-test. 5) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the second experimental group members (stories method) and the control group in the post-test. 6) There are no statistical differences among the levels of the social intelligence scores of the first experimental group members (modeling method) and the second experimental group (stories methods) in the post-test. Hence, in order to know the social intelligence of the preparatory schoolgirls, the researcher built up the following scale. The corpus of the study consists of 600 school girls’ students and the scale, in its primitive form, consists of 36 items distributed on four domains which in turn exposed to a group of experts to fix and check the sample with making certain modifications if any there. Actually, after testing the scale reliability, the researcher applied the procedures of the scale validity through re-testing which sums 0.86 and the validity reaches 0.76 by using Cronbach Alpha formula but it gets 0.90 by using the classification division process. Moreover, I methods the researcher in order to build a guidance program in correspondence with the method the researcher adopted, she applied her scale on 154 preparatory schoolgirls to investigate those who have low level in their social intelligence. The sample of the experiment consists of 29 schoolgirls who gained low scores in the social intelligence and distributed randomly on three groups, for each group there are 9 students (two experimental groups and only one control group. The guidance program contained 10 sessions for each group, in which the researcher used the most suitable statistical tools with a special help of the SPSS, the T-test for the two samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, Spearman –Brown prediction formula, Cronbach Alpha formula- Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney- U Test. After the application of the guidance program on the two experimental groups, the scale has been applied on the three groups y using the post test, the results were as follows: 1) The modeling method has an effect on developing the social intelligence among the preparatory schoolgirls. 2) The stories method has an effect on developing the social intelligence among the preparatory schoolgirls. In the light of the aforesaid results, the researcher set up a list of recommendations and suggestions which are the need of the workers in the educational field to get benefit from this program the researcher adopted in developing the students’ social intelligence, and the interest must be in the group guidance lectures, finally there is an urgent need to develop the social intelligence strategies of the preparatory schoolgirls. The researcher also suggested making similar studies about the social intelligence development in other classes and stages as collegiate grade or the intermediate school as well as the need to make other studies that match between the social intelligence and other types of intelligence and studies that concerned with other variables as sex and major.
