This research aims at identifying psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled and their relation to some demographic variables (gender, educational level, economic level, number of children in the family, birth order of the child.) And the present study also aims to determine what psychological stress can be caused among parents as a result of the presence of a child suffering from mental disability. The present study also aimed to identify the relation between each of the psychological stress with some variables concerning parents represented by gender, chronological age, educational level and the economical level; or concerning the child represented by the number of children in the family, and the child order among his siblings To achieve this goal the researcher used the descriptive method and the (population was the parents of the mentally disabled ) in the special education centers in Khartoum state. And the sample size was 64 subjects 24 males and 23 females taken by the simple random sampling, and the researcher used the psychological stress measure for the mentally disabled parents, the validity of the scale has been verified in its original form using factor analysis, and internal consistency, and the reliability of the scale was verified by the Alvakronbach equation. In addition to that the validity of the scale in the current study was verified by calculating the correlation coefficient between the scores of the dimensions and the total score of the scale. The stability of the measure was checkcd by Alvakronbach and it was found to be high, and treatment was done through the program spss) these include T test and the arithmetic mean and standard deviation and test and this study found the following results: 1) The Level of psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled are high. 2) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to gender. 3) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to age. 4) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to graduate and post-graduate levels of education. 5) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to economic level variable in favor of high economical level. 6) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to child birth order. 7) There are no significant differences in psychological stresses among the parents of the mentally disabled due to the number of the children in the family. And in the end the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions, the most important of which is to provide programs to reduce the level of stress among the parents of the mentally disabled children.
