واقع حال مادة تقنيات البحث والتفكير (stt) في المرحلة الثانوية من ناحية تحصيلها وتعزيزها لمهارات التفكير الإبداعي
The study aims to know the reality of the subject of Research and Thinking Techniques (STT) in the secondary stage in terms of its acquisition and enhancement of creative thinking skills in a private school in Lebanon. To this end, a mixed methodology (quantitative-qualitative) was used. A questionnaire was addressed to learners and teachers, and a semi-structured interview was addressed to a group of students and to the school principal. The research sample consisted of 41 learners (SE1 and SE2 classes) who were selected using a stratified random sampling method, and 22 secondary school teachers. A descriptive approach was used to collect and analyze data. Several results were found and explained through the interviews. It was found that learners’ and teachers’ appreciation of the contribution of the (STT) to enhancing creative thinking skills among learners was high, and the study showed that there is a significant relationship between the level of achievement of the (STT) subject among learners and general academic achievement, while it showed that there is no significant relationship between the level of achievement of (STT) among learners and creative thinking skills. The study showed that there were no significant differences in the average estimates of the creative thinking skills and the total score for the (STT) subject due to gender difference, while it showed significant differences due to the class variable in favor of the SE2 class. No significant differences were found between the estimates of teachers and learners about the extent to which the (STT) subject contributed to enhancing creative thinking skills among learners. In light of the results, this study concluded with a set of recommendations, including urging those concerned with educational affairs to include the (STT) subject within the pre-university educational curricula, in addition to holding seminars for scientific research for secondary school learners to motivate them to carry out scientific research, in addition to other recommendations.
