This study compares nine Arab universities each having a program in political science. It shows a disparity between such programs in terms of resources, curricula and follow-up opportunities for graduates thus raising questions about the status of universities in teaching a discipline that is considered essential in preparing the future leaders of the Arab world. This comparative study revealed further information about the current educational system in Arab countries like Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait and considered the problems faced by colleges and departments with Political Science programs. One of the notable conclusions of such studies is the international recognition of certifications granted by those universities in the discipline of Political Science allowing graduates the opportunity to specialize in foreign universities and work in their own countries or abroad. In parallel, the study shed light on a set of challenges that universities generally face. On the one hand, colleges and departments of Political Science suffer from deficiencies in some of the basic courses and on the other hand, students are not afforded the opportunities for academic guidance and field training. In addition, students face the problem of lacking sources in the Arabic language and practically forced dependence on foreign sources which requires greater efforts to support the production of Arab scientific research in these universities.
