استخدام طلاب الجامعات لأدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي التوليدي وغايات استخدامها : مراجعة منهجية للدراسات المنشورة 2022-2025
This study aimed to identify university students' use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools and their purposes of use, while analyzing the influence of geographic and cultural contexts on usage patterns, through a systematic review of 40 studies published between 2022 and 2025. The findings revealed that large language models (LLMs) dominate the academic landscape, with ChatGPT ranking first, followed by language enhancement tools such as Quill Bot and Grammarly, and visual generation tools such as Adobe Firefly and Leonardo.ai. Academic and research-related purposes emerged as the primary drivers of use, including bridging knowledge gaps, content generation, and research summarization, alongside developmental and inclusivity-related purposes. Geographic context was found to influence usage patterns: in non-English-speaking countries, linguistic empowerment was a primary purpose, whereas in English-speaking countries, usage centered on knowledge productivity. The study concluded that students' use of GenAI has shifted from curiosity to intentional, purpose-driven adoption, and offered recommendations for integrating AI into higher education in alignment with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
