This paper adopted the inductive method by reviewing literature and recent studies in this field by accessing databases that resulted in obtaining much published research related to the problem of the study. The results showed the inadequacy of family counselling services provided to families who have a child with autism spectrum disorder. As a result, these families suffer from many psychological, social and financial challenges and problems. The results also revealed the weakness and lack of studies that dealt with studying the needs of families of children with autism spectrum disorder. The study resulted in recommending the activation of the role of media regarding the importance of family guidance for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and the services provided by it.
