دور مديري المدارس الابتدائية في التنمية المهنية للمعلمين في شرقي القدس
The study aimed to identify the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem. The study used the descriptive analytical method, and a simple random sample of (200) male and female teachers was selected. A questionnaire consisting of (23) items was prepared, distributed across three areas: classroom practices, communication, and professional development of teachers. The results showed that the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem was moderate with a relative weight of (65.3%). All areas were also moderate, with the area of communication coming in first place with a relative weight of (66.9%), followed by the area of classroom practices with a relative weight of (66.0%), and finally the professional development of teachers with a relative weight of (63.3%). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the study sample regarding the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem, attributable to the variables of gender, academic qualification, and years of experience. The study recommended that school principals develop teachers' teaching skills and classroom practices through classroom visits and teacher principal meetings, and that principals stay informed about the latest developments in each subject area within their schools.
