The study aimed to identify teachers' estimates of the role of extracurricular activities in detecting gifted deaf and hard of hearing from the point of view of their teachers. The study sample consisted of (41) teachers from Al-Amal institutes and integration schools affiliated to the Education Department of the City of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. They were chosen at random. The study adopted the descriptive approach. The questionnaire was used as a tool to achieve its objectives. The results of the study concluded that extracurricular activities reveal talented people with hearing disabilities to a moderate degree from the point of view of their teachers. The artistic extracurricular activity came with the highest degree of agreement for teachers of the deaf, while the social extracurricular activity was the highest in the evaluation of the hard of hearing teachers, as for the linguistic cultural activity, the lowest degrees of approval by teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing. The results of the study also confirmed the existence of significant differences in teachers' ratings according to the gender variable in favor of deaf male teachers on social activity. While the estimates of male and female teachers of the hard of hearing are close. The study recommended the necessity of diversifying the methods of identifying gifted students who are deaf and hard of hearing. (Published abstract)
