معوقات تقديم الخدمات الانتقالية للطلاب ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية من وجهة نظر المعلمين بمدينة جدة

This study aims to uncover the obstacles that prevent provision of transitional services to the student with intellectual impairment enrolled in middle and secondary stages of education according to the viewpoint of teachers in Jeddah City. It further aims to reveal the differences of teachers’ evaluation of such obstacles preventing provision of transitional services in accordance with the variable of severity of impairment. Accordingly, a questionnaire survey composed of (14) sentences was designed and applied on (111) teachers who are working in institutes of intellectual education in Jeddah. Findings of the study revealed that obstacles preventing provision of transitional services to the students with intellectual impairment have recorded high scores with average of (3.91) and specific weight of (78.2%) according to the viewpoints of teachers in Jeddah. Findings also revealed no statistical differences have been detected in the obstacles preventing provision of transitional services in accordance with the variable of severity of impairment. The study recommended increase of social awareness among members of the society about transitional services and their roles; and make joint ventures with local establishments to train students with intellectual impairment.
