إدراك الطفل المعاق عقليا للقبول/ الرفض الوالدي وعلاقته بمشكلاته السلوكية
The study aimed to reveal the teachable mentally disabled child’s awareness of parental acceptance and rejection, and its relationship to his behavioral problems, in light of the gender variable. The study sample consisted of (58) mentally disabled children of both sexes, enrolled in (7) integration schools in Giza Governorate. These children were chosen randomly. Their ages were (7-13) years, and their average IQ was (55-70). The homogeneity of the sample was taken into account at the socio-economic and cultural level, according to the records of the children in the schools to which they belong. The researcher prepared an acceptance/ rejection scale. Parents as perceived by teachable mentally disabled children, and a measure of behavioral problems for teachable mentally disabled children. The results revealed a negative correlation between parental acceptance and behavioral problems for teachable mentally disabled children, males and females, and a positive correlation between the degree of perception of teachable mentally disabled children. Males and females for parental rejection and behavioral problems. There are also no significant differences between teachable mentally disabled children (males - females) in their perception of parental acceptance/rejection, and no significant differences between teachable mentally disabled children (males - females) in behavioral problems.
