The study aimed to identify the reality of the practice of paternalistic leadership among school principals in Al Majma`ah Governorate, and to identify the statistically significant differences of study sample about the degree of paternalistic leadership due to the variables (gender, school stage, years of experience and training courses), and to identify the proposed procedures to activate the practice of paternalistic leadership among school principals, the study sample consisted of 348 teachers in public school in Al Majma`ah Governorate, in order to reach the objectives of the study, it is appropriate to use the descriptive approach survey, the parental leadership scale (pls) built by (Farh and Cheng, 2000) was used. the results of the study found that the degree of public school principals in Al Majma`ah Governorate practicing the benevolence and moral leadership dimension came to a large degree, whereas, the authoritarian leadership dimension got an average degree, and that the degree of school principals’ practice of parental leadership as a whole came to a large degree, also there are statistically significant differences of study sample in the total degree of paternalistic leadership and the two dimensions of benevolence and authoritarian leadership due to gender and school stage, while there are no differences about moral leadership due gender and school stage, whereas there are no differences due to different years of experience and training courses, one of the most important proposed procedures for activating the school leadership practice among school principals is for the principal to create an appropriate atmosphere for teachers' work and to encourage principals to accept and discuss opposing opinions.
