This study aimed to investigate "the effect of the interaction between motivational mechanisms (badges, leaderboards) and player types (dependent/ social) in gamification-based learning on developing achievement among first-year middle school students in mathematics course. A quasi-experimental design was used, and two learning environments were designed based on gamification. Gamification using two motivational mechanisms (badges, leaderboard). Objectives were prepared for the learning environment, achievement test. The study sample was (80) students in an intentional manner from first middle grade, in four experimental groups for each group (20) students. The study showed that there is no statistically significant difference between the average scores of the members of first and third experimental group with badges and second and fourth in the leaderboard in cognitive achievement, and that there is no statistically significant difference between the average scores of the members of first and second group for the certified and third and fourth social groups in cognitive achievement and motivation to learn, while the results showed The presence of an interaction effect between each of the motivational mechanisms (badges, leaderboard), and the type of players (approved/ social), in favor of (social leaderboard), and (approved, badges).
