The study aimed to identify the requirements that must be available to apply institutional excellence in special needs schools in Egypt. The study was based on the descriptive curriculum applied to a sample of (600) teachers and principals of special needs schools. The study found that the degree of availability of the requirements for applying the standards of institutional excellence in special needs schools came to a low degree for all the axes of the resolution (distinguished institutional management, operations management, beneficiaries management, human resources management, teaching and learning, relations and resources management, relations and resources management, distinguished teacher, performance results). The study also reached the requirements that must be met to apply institutional excellence in special needs schools in Egypt: providing an effective and distinguished school environment of high quality, providing stimulating laws, spreading a culture of quality and institutional excellence, having a flexible organizational structure and leadership supporting institutional excellence. The study recommended the need to restructure the administrative organization of special needs schools to reach institutional excellence and face the changes that have been face the orientation of the world after the pandemic (COVID-19) to distance learning, educational platforms, and work to provide advanced programs for the development of sources of funding and diversity in special needs schools.
