The study was conducted in order to determine the relationship between the value system with practice of organizational citizenship behavior, among the professor of the Algerian university, as well as to explore the nature of the value system of the professor and evaluating the level of practicing the behavior of citizenship towards his university, which is as follow: Ouargla, Oran and the University of Constantine. The study sample consisted of 422 professors. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive comparative analytical approach was used. as data collection tools we used "Elport et all" test of values, and a questionnaire of organizational citizenship behavior (consist of 33 items distributed in five dimensions), which prepared by the researcher. These tools were applied in the study, after estimating some psychometric properties which confirmed its validity and reliability. After data anlyses using -IBM spss.20. The findings were as follow: 1) The arrange of value system among the professors of Algerian university was as follow: religious value, theoretical value, economic value, social value, and finally aesthetic value. 2) The practice of organizational citizenship behavior among the university of Algeria was high. 3) The three values (religious value, theoretical value and economic value) respectively topped the list by representing 408 professors out of a total of 422 (97%). 4) There was a significant relationship between the value system and the level of organizational citizenship behavior. 5) There were significant differences in the level of citizenship behavior, among professors whom religious value topped their value system according to gender and speciality, and there were no differences in the level of citizenship behavior, among professors whom religious value topped their value system. according to professional experience. 6) There were no significant differences in the level of citizenship behavior, among professors whom theoretical value topped their value system, according to gender, professional experience and specialty. 7) There were no significant differences in the level of citizenship behavior, among professors whose economic value topped their value system, according to gender, professional experience and specialty. The results of the study were discussed in the light of some previous studies and literature, and concluded with some proposals for researchers, and decision-makers. (Author’s abstract)
