The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program based on the theory of serious creativity in developing prosody skills and the inclination to listen to poetry among second-year students of the Arabic Language Division, Faculty of Education. To achieve this, the prosody topics prescribed for them were redesigned using the strategies of the theory of serious creativity, namely: focus, challenge, alternatives, and harvest. Research tools were developed, including a prosody skills test and a scale measuring the inclination to listen to poetry. The researchers used a quasi-experimental design with one group. The test was administered pre- and post-intervention after a teaching experience that incorporated selected serious creativity strategies. The experimental group consisted of 28 students who studied the topics using the proposed program that incorporated selected serious creativity strategies. The results showed a statistically significant difference at the (0.01) level between the mean scores of the students in the pre- and post-tests for both prosody skills and the inclination to listen to poetry, in favor of the post-test. The research concluded with several recommendations, most notably the need to employ serious creativity strategies to enhance prosody skills and students’ inclination to listen to poetry.
