The study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral counseling program to develop nutritional awareness for students with academic learning difficulties in the primary stage. To achieve the goal of the study experimental approach was used, where the study was applied to a sample consisting of (22) female students in the fifth and sixth grades of primary school with learning difficulties at the Al-Somran Primary Institute in Al-Arish, with an average age of (11.23) years, and a standard deviation of (0.75). , The study tools were: Michael Best's scale for diagnosing people with learning difficulties, John Raven's Colored Progressive Matrices test, the socio-economic level questionnaire (prepared by Abdul Aziz Al-Khashab), the reading and writing skills test (prepared by the researcher), and the nutritional awareness scale. For people with academic learning difficulties (prepared by the researcher), and the program based on cognitive-behavioral counseling techniques (prepared by the researcher, The results of the study it found statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the average ranks of the study group’s students in the pre- and post-applications of the food awareness scale in favor of the post-application, and the absence of Statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the average ranks of the study group’s students’ scores in the post and follow-up applications of the food awareness scale.
