واقع أساليب الضبط المدرسي للحد من التحرش الجنسي في المدارس المتوسطة الحكومية بمدينة الرياض
The study aimed to investigate the reality of school control methods utilized to reduce sexual harassment at government middle schools in Riyadh from the standpoints of student counselors. To this end, the descriptive survey approach was utilized, so a questionnaire was distributed to 295 student counselors at government middle schools affiliated to the General Administration of Education in Riyadh. The study findings include the following: the respondents strongly agree with the reality of school control methods used to reduce sexual harassment at government middle schools in Riyadh, the absence of statistically significant differences at level 0.05 or less concerning respondents’ outlooks, -regardless of the years of experience variable- there were statistically significant differences at level 0.01 or less among respondents holding master’s degrees in favor of those holding bachelor’s degrees. A number of recommendations were made, including: urging families to implant self-control in the minds of their children in a way that would protect them from the negative use of smart devices in order not to be affected by inappropriate content they may contain such as sexual stimuli, the need to increase counseling programs by middle school administrations to raise students’ awareness of the seriousness of sexual harassment, ways to prevent it, and the mechanism of how to report sexual harassment to authorized people, urging teachers at middle schools to pay attention to following up and observing students during waiting periods between classes, recesses and gatherings, and reminding them of the negative influences resulting from carelessness in this regard which would lead to cases of sexual harassment.
