This study aimed to assess the level of Creative thinking among students in the upper primary stage in public schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education in Amman, based on the variables of grade level, sex, and academic achievement. To achieve this objective, the Drawing Production Test (DPT) was used as a measure of creative thinking. The study sample consisted of (456) students from grade seven to ten grade. The psychometric properties of the scale were verified through its application to a pilot sample. The results showed that the level of creative thinking among upper basic stage students is low. It also showed the existence of an effect for the grade level in creative thinking, as there were statistically significant differences between students of grade levels from the seventh to the tenth grade, where the mean scores of seventh-grade students were higher than others. The results also indicated the existence of an effect for the sex variable in creative thinking, where the mean scores of females were higher than males. (Published abstract)
