Taking into account the importance of scientific observation as a tool of research, we decided to devote this research paper to the causes that prevent the teacher trainees from resorting to it in their works. This is possibly dueto their inability to use the scientific observation appropriately and consequently they do without it. Therefore, we will define scientific observation and show how to use it appropriately. We will rely on the analytical descriptive method. Which will be guided by the following questions? Why is scientific observation absent in the works of teacher trainees? When should we resort to scientific observation? How to choose the right type of scientific observation that can form the professional identity of the reflexive teacher?. (Published abstract)
