This study aimed to know the effectiveness of a training program in improving the skills of the 21st century with female student-teachers in department of special education at a Saudi university, and identify if there were statistically significant differences between the responses of the student-teachers to the measurement of the 21st century skills after applying the training program. To achieve the objectives of the study, a quasi-experimental methodology, of one sample, was used. The research tools included a training program, and a measurement for the 21st century skills, designed by the researcher. After testing both validity and reliability of the research tools, they were administered to a sample of 14 student-teachers. The findings of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤ 0.05) between the responses of the sample to the measurement of the 21st century skills in favor of the post-measurement. The study recommended the need to include 21st-century skills and their applications in educational curricula. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of developing teacher preparation programs for special education within education colleges, in line with the requirements and characteristics of the current era.
