فاعلية برنامج إرشادي جمعي مستند إلى النظرية السلوكية الجدلية في تنمية مستوى الذكاء الذاتي لطلبة المرحلة الأساسية في الأردن
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on the Dialectical Behavior theory (DBT) in developing intrapersonal intelligence among students in the primary stage in Jordan. The sample included 30 subjects of primary stage students from eighth till tenth grade selected from High Level Academy school. The sample was selected intentionally and was then randomly assigned to two groups of experimental (n=15) and control (n=15). An intrapersonal intelligence scale was developed. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design. All participants were asked to complete the intrapersonal intelligence scale as a pre-test form; the range was (1-240). Psychometric qualities were evaluated before using the instrument. The experimental group underwent the group therapy for 14 sessions, but the control group did not receive any intervention. All the participants took the instruments again as post-tests. Data was analyzed using Two Way ANCOVA and two way MANCOVA analysis. The study revealed statistically significant differences (α=0.05) between the experimental and control groups in self-intelligence. The experimental group saw an increase from 120.20 to 160.27, while the control group, which did not undergo the guidance program, experienced a slight decline from 95.47 to 94.87 in self-intelligence. These differences favored the experimental group, attributed to the program. However, no differences were observed in the subjective IQ scale based on gender. The study recommended conducting more studies based on the dialectical behavioral theory on different variables. (Published abstract)
