This study aimed to explore the role of kindergarten teachers in developing leadership skills (such as self-confidence, problem-solving, decision-making, and responsibility) in preschool children, as well as to identify the obstacles they face. The researcher employed a descriptive approach, and the study was conducted in the Al-Ahsa region, where data collection tools were designed, including a questionnaire and interviews with a sample of 134 teachers, from which 18 were selected for interviews based on their teaching experience. The results showed that the average scores of teachers regarding their role in developing leadership skills were relatively high, with the area of responsibility being the highest at an average of (2.93), while the area of leadership skills was the lowest at an average of (2.82). All items related to leadership skills showed relatively high levels. There were no statistically significant differences in the effect of educational qualifications, while statistically significant differences were found in the area of leadership skills based on years of experience. These results highlight the importance of teachers' roles in enhancing leadership skills among preschool children: 1) There are statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the mean scores in the area of leadership skills based on years of experience, favoring those with ten years or more of experience. 2) There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the mean scores regarding the effect of the number of training courses. 3) There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the mean scores regarding the effect of the number of children in the classroom. 4) A set of obstacles was identified that hinder the teacher from fulfilling her role, some related to the teacher, some to the child, some related to the kindergarten environment, and obstacles related to school management.
