This research aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the Botpress chatbot supported by the ChatGPT model in developing the cognitive aspect of programming skills among first grade female secondary school students. The researchers used the descriptive-analytic method and the quasi-experimental method based on the experimental and control groups, and the data were collected by applying the pre and post application of the research tool, which is a cognitive test; to measure the cognitive aspect of programming skills, the tool was applied to a sample of (65) female first grade secondary students in Madinah, divided into two groups: The control group consisted of (31) students who were taught in the traditional way, and the experimental group consisted of (34) students who were taught using the Botpress chatbot supported by the ChatGPT model, and the tools were applied posthoc, and the results showed the effectiveness of the chatbot in developing the cognitive aspect of programming skills. In light of this, the researchers recommended employing chatbots in the development of various knowledge and skills among students, and recommended supporting school subjects with chatbots based on artificial intelligence techniques to facilitate learning and ensure its continuity.
