العلاقة بين تعاطي المواد المؤثرة على العقل وسمات الشخصية السيكوباتية لدى الشباب
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between substance use and psychopathic personality traits among youth, employing a correlational descriptive design with a randomly selected sample of 533 young individuals. Two scales were administered: the Psychoactive Substance Use Scale developed by Saabi and Al-Katheeri (2022) and the Psychopathic Personality Traits Scale developed by Al-Qarni et al. (2023). Results revealed moderate levels of both substance use and psychopathic traits, with a statistically significant positive correlation between the two variables. Significant differences were observed in substance use and psychopathic traits based on educational level (favoring high school students) and age (favoring participants under 20 years of age). However, no statistically significant differences were found in relation to occupation or marital status. Furthermore, the findings confirmed the predictive capacity of psychopathic traits in determining substance use levels, underscoring the critical role of personality factors in designing targeted prevention and intervention strategies.
