The study aimed to identify the reality of including preventive education concepts to reduce risks and crises in social studies textbooks for grades from the third basic to the twelfth for post-basic education in the Sultanate of Oman. Use the descriptive analytical approach by following the content analysis method. The study included all social studies textbooks scheduled for the academic year (2023-2024). A list of preventive education concepts for risk and crisis reduction was prepared, which included five areas: concepts (causes, effects, prevention, recovery, management), which included (143) sub-concepts. Based on it, a comprehensive content analysis card was designed. After confirming its truthfulness by presenting it to the arbitrators, and its stability, which amounted to (0.97), the analysis was conducted, the data was collected and analyzed statistically using frequencies and percentages. The results of the study showed a difference in the degree of inclusion of preventive education fields in social studies books, the highest of which was the inclusion of the field of risk and crisis management concepts by (36%), and the study also showed a variation in the degree of inclusion of the five areas according to the grades, as it was guaranteed to a degree of (7.1%) in the grades from the third to the ninth basic, and with a degree of inclusion of (92.9%) in the grades from the tenth basic to the twelfth for post-basic education. The study recommends the need to increase diversification in the forms of content submission, and to include preventive education concepts more in the books of the third and fourth grades, given that age groups are more vulnerable and vulnerable to risks and crises.
