This research aimed to examine the attitudes of journalism and media students toward the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in education, focusing on the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional aspects related to this use. The study adopted a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing a questionnaire as the data collection tool, based on a sample of journalism and media students. The results revealed a high level of acceptance among students for using AI applications in self-learning, particularly the ChatGPT application. The study also indicated that these tools contributed to enhancing students’ academic and media skills, such as content creation and information analysis. On the other hand, the findings showed limited awareness of some other AI applications and emphasized the need to raise academic institutions’ awareness of thoughtfully integrating AI tools into the educational process through diverse usage. The research recommends systematically integrating AI into educational curricula and offering training courses to promote effective and informed use of these technologies, aligning with the demands of the digital job market and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
