The study aimed to know the reality of Professional Learning Communities for Islamic Education teachers in Qassim Region, identifying the most prominent obstacles they encounter in applying the idea of a learning society. It also aimed to identify any statistically significant differences in the responses of the sample individuals regarding the reality of, and obstacles to, applying the idea of a learning society among Islamic Education teachers by different variables (gender, academic qualification, years of experience). Finally, the study suggests a concept for activating Professional Learning Communities for Islamic Education teachers. The study used a descriptive quantitative method based on a questionnaire. The study sample consisted of 156 randomly selected Islamic Education teachers in the Qassim region. The responses of the study sample regarding the reality of applying Professional Learning Communities for Islamic Education teachers were with a (medium) degree. There were found to be obstacles that limit Professional Learning Communities among Islamic Education teachers with a (large) degree. There were statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level by gender concerning the reality of applying learning societies but no statistically significant differences by gender concerning obstacles to applying learning societies. Likewise, there were no statistically significant differences in reality or obstacles by academic qualification or years of experience. The study indicates that there are five basic requirements for activating Professional Learning Communities for Islamic Education teachers, as follow: common vision and values, focusing on results, supportive conditions, collective learning intended and, finally, participatory leadership. The study concludes by formulating a proposed conception to activate Professional Learning Communities for Islamic Education teachers that complies with the study results and its literature review.
