The study aimed to benefit from the applications of expanded learning in pre-university education in the states of California and Massachusetts in the United States of America to address some of the problems of preuniversity education in the Arab Republic of Egypt in a manner consistent with the cultural and societal context. The study used the comparative approach to achieve this goal according to a set of steps that began with the general framework of the study, then the theoretical framework of expanded learning in contemporary educational literature in terms of origin, goals, importance, pillars, and requirements, then the applications of expanded learning in the states of California and Massachusetts in the United States of America in terms of origin, goals, funding, and programs, followed by the comparative analysis step, and presenting the Egyptian efforts made in pre-university education in light of the concept of expanded learning, and the last step included the proposed procedures for applying expanded learning to address some of the problems of pre-university education in Egypt in light of benefiting from the experience of the states of California and Massachusetts in the United States of America.
