The research aimed to develop the story-reading skills of students of the second grade of Al-Azhar preparatory through the conceptual metaphor strategy and to achieve the goal of the research, a list of story reading skills, a teacher's guide, and the student's book was prepared, and these tools were applied to a group of students of the second grade of Al-Azhar preparatory school at the Kafr Hamouda Preparatory Girls Institute of AlAzhar of the Hahya Educational Administration. Sharkia Governorate, and the semi-experimental design with two equivalent groups was used, where the experimental group is taught Using the conceptual borrowing strategy, the control group is taught in the usual way, and the research has reached the effectiveness of the conceptual metaphor strategy in developing the story-reading skills of students of the second grade of Al-Azhar preparatory school, and the research has recommended several recommendations, including: The need to benefit from the conceptual borrowing strategy in other branches of the Arabic language, and the need to pay attention to the development of story reading skills and reading habits among middle school students, and the need to include in the story curriculum some scientific activities and exercises Which helps students to ensure understanding of the content, and the need to provide sufficient time to train students on story reading skills, and the need to hold training courses to train teachers to explain story reading skills in line with the lived reality by training them on the latest strategies and models through which to develop story reading skills.
