The study aimed at identify and revealing the extent to which the content of the chemistry curriculum (3) includes principles of green chemistry for the secondary school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The descriptive approach was used as a research method to analyse the content, (Content Analysis) using the content analysis card as a data collection tool, to analyse the chemistry textbook (3) for the secondary stage as the study population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study tool included (28) paragraphs distributed over four main principles classified as follows: avoiding errors -Decomposition design - Energy efficiency design – Safe chemical design. The results of the study in its general framework showed that the inclusion in the chemistry textbook (3) of principles of green chemistry for the secondary stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was of a low degree. The green chemistry principle - avoiding errors - ranked first in terms of degree of inclusion, with a rate of (27.8%), followed by the principle of - Safe chemical design- with a rate of (17.5%), then the principle of - Energy efficiency design - with a rate of (12.5%). Then the last principle was “Decomposition design” with a percentage of (11.4%). In conclusion, the study recommended the following: Concerned officials should pay attention to planning and developing the chemistry course at the secondary stage by including the principles of green chemistry in the course, taking into account balance in presenting the topics and the most important principles. The Ministry of Education should pay attention to developing the chemistry curriculum at the general education levels in general and the secondary stage in particular, in a way that is should consistent with scientific developments and contemporary global developments related to the science of green chemistry.
