The sample of the study consisted of (60) cases of drug addicts among university students (30) males, (30) females, between the ages of (18-27) years. As for the clinical study sample, it consisted of one case of drug addicts who were inmates of Al-Shams Hospital for addiction treatment in Cairo. The results revealed that there was a direct positive correlation with statistical significance (at the level of 0.01) between the internal control center and the measure of self-compassion (dimensions and total score). There is a statistically significant inverse negative correlation relationship (at the level of 0.01) between the external control center and the self-compassion scale (dimensions and total score). There are no statistically significant differences between the internal and external control center scores for males and females. There are statistically significant differences (at the level of 0.05) on the self-compassion scale in each of the two dimensions: general humanity and mental alertness (in favor of males), self-compassion, autonomy, solation, over-solitary; as well as (total score); and that the correlation coefficient = (0.870), and indicates the existence of a high correlation between the independent or predicted variable (dimensions) of the control center, and the dependent or predicted variable (total degree) of self-compassion, the value of the determination coefficient = 0.756 and indicates that the independent variable (dimensions). The control center explains 75.6% of the variance in the degrees of the dependent variable (total degree) of self-pity, and that the value of (F) is statistically significant, meaning, the predictability of the degrees of the independent variable (dimensions) of the control center of the dependent variable (total degree) of self-compassion. The values of (T) are not statistically significant for the external control dimension, which means that the degrees of external control do not predict the total degree of self-compassion. With the total degree of self-compassion, as indicated by the results of the clinical study, university students among drug addicts have a weak ego, violent conflicts, failure to communicate with others, and negative relapse.
