The study aimed to identify alternatives to financing public education through self-financing of schools and the contribution of the private sector and the local community, and to identify the obstacles that prevent them, from the point of view of leaders of public boys’ schools in Medina. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher used the quantitative method. The researcher developed a questionnaire as a tool for the study, and it was judged by experts in this field. The questionnaire was distributed to the study community, which consisted of all leaders of the 288 public education schools for boys in Medina, using Google Forms, after official permission was obtained from the Education Department in the Medina region. The researcher used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program to process the collected data. The results of the study indicated participants’ approval of self-financing of schools, as the arithmetic mean for this axis was (92.3 out of 5). Participants also strongly agreed (4.22 out of 5) with private sector and community funding alternatives for public education schools. Regarding the presence of obstacles that prevent the existence of financing alternatives for public education, the participants’ agreement was very high, as the general average for this axis reached (28.4 out of 5). Regarding demographic data, there are statistically significant differences in the participants’ perceptions attributed to the educational levels in the school in the first axis, and statistically significant differences attributed to the age variable in the third axis. There are no statistically significant differences due to the variables of educational level, years of experience, job position, or geographical scope of the school. Based on these results, a number of recommendations and proposals for future studies were proposed. (Published abstract)
