واقع الاعتداد الثقافي تجاه العرق في المدارس الحكومية في دولة الكويت : دراسة حالة

Cultural ethnocentrism is the state in which the individual reaches the highest degree of confidence in what he/she possess of culture, as he/she perceive their culture as the best in terms of general culture, customs, traditions, religion, language and origin. This makes him/her reject the rest of the different cultures and prefer their own culture and groups. The cultural ethnocentrism induvial perceives other groups with negative feelings and behaviors, which is represented by contempt, marginalization and expulsion; due to judging culture, color or religion. This leads to impeding positive communication between humans and creating many social, economic and psychological problems. The importance of this study is to know the reality of cultural ethnocentrism towards people of dark skin in Kuwait’s public schools, as they represent a group of the Kuwaiti Society. This study aims to reveal the reality of cultural ethnocentrism in Kuwaiti governmental school environments. This study will be applied to a girls middle school community of middle school girls in the Capital Educational District, represented by student counseling teachers, psychologist/ school counselors and teachers in the same school. This study will rely upon a qualitative case study approach and uses field observations and open interviews. (Published abstract)
