The study aimed to examine the role of academic information institutions in building a purple economy culture as a case study on the Central Library at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. This was achieved by understanding the library's role in promoting awareness in the fields of creativity, innovation, and culture, as well as providing knowledge and resources in these areas. Additionally, the study explored the library's role in supporting entrepreneurs, encouraging creativity and cultural activities, and providing training programs to develop creative and innovative skills. The study followed a descriptive-analytical approach and focused on the employees of the Central Library at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in Dammam. The study sample consisted of 60 individuals, with 52 of them responding to the survey. The findings of the study indicated that the Central Library plays a role in providing knowledge and resources in the fields of creativity, innovation, and culture, with an average score of 2.78. It also showed agreement on the library's role in supporting entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative economy, with an average score of 2.49, and in raising awareness to promote the purple economy culture in society, with an average score of 2.52. Moreover, the study revealed that the library offers training programs to encourage cultural and artistic creativity, with an average score of 2.76. However, the results indicated a moderate level of the library's role in encouraging creativity and cultural activities to support the purple economy, with an average score of 2.23. Based on the findings, the study recommended the establishment of a comprehensive center for the purple economy within the library. This center would provide access to databases, resources, collaborative workspaces, consulting services, capacity-building programs, communication opportunities, and support research and initiatives, while raising awareness about the importance of the purple economy in sustainable development.
