This study seeks to originate an important Field of education, which is the field of Foundations of Education at Professor Said Ismail Ali's thought. This origination deals with the definition, functions, the most important areas of this field, and consciousness the pioneers of Foundation of Education about this field, and the while highlighting its related problems through what the professor has presented in this field to develop it. The descriptive analytical method is used in the study. The results reveal several problems including, for example, the vagueness/ambiguity of the real meaning of this field, the weakness of its main function, the absence of the differences among its sub-fields, focusing on studying areas rather than others, and the separation of its fundamental researches from the educational reality and their traditional tendency, and repetition of scientific content, with the lack of awareness among researchers about these issues, with weakness of research continuity, and then the absence of educational renewal.
