The school books and the Para-school books are two important tools in the educational learning process. In fact, those who undertake to compose them must meet a set of pedagogical and technical conditions. Actually, through this article, we will seek to explore what has remained constant in those conditions and standards and what has changed since the recent reforms in the Algerian educational system after the year 2016. We have written on this topic to achieve several objectives, including drawing the attention of university professors to the authorship of these important school books in general, and giving special attention to the history and geography subject in developing its programs, as it is a fundamental subject that supports the society and the state's strategy in preserving the Algerian national historical memory. In the study, we relied primarily on the narrative-descriptive approach because it is the most suitable for presenting the methodological, pedagogical, and technical conditions for preparing school and semi-school books for the history and geography subject in the Algerian educational system. At the end of the study, we reached several important results, including changes in the accreditation procedures for school books and approval for semi-school books for all subjects, which now depend on the approval of two committees: accreditation for school books and approval for semi-school books. The specific conditions for the pedagogical and technical specifications of their production, including books for the history and geography subject, remain stable. (Published abstract)
