The study aimed to identify the role of professional development programs in improving the performance of public-school teachers in Education Directorate of the Irbid District Brigade from their point of view. The sample consisted of (355) female and male teachers during the academic year (2021-2022). in which the descriptive survey method was used, and a questionnaire was developed as a tool for the study. It consisted of (28) items distributed in four areas. The results concluded that the role of professional development programs in improving the performance of teachers was a high. There are statistically significant differences in the attributed to the impact of the training courses; the differences came in favor of the (8 or more courses). And there are no statistically significant differences for the role of professional development programs due to the effect of academic qualification, gender and years of experience. The study recommended the necessity of holding training courses for teachers to improve their skills in the use of technology and assessment. (Published abstract)
