The research aimed to examine the psychometric properties and factor structure of the emotional creativity inventory(ECI) prepared by (Averill, 1999), who believes that the concept of emotional creativity consists of three factors; preparedness, novelty, and effectiveness/ authenticity. The ECI was applied to a sample of (340) students at the University of Ouargla (230) students and the University of El-Oued) (110) students. The results showed that the concept of emotional creativity has a low level of validity and reliability. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed the evidence of a good-fit who supports the Averill’s three factors model. (Published abstract)
