This research is aimed at investigating the effect of a visual activities program in Social Studies on developing visual identity and awareness of historical and archaeological places among fourth-grade primary stage pupils. The instruments and materials included: a list of visual identity skills that should be developed among fourth-grade primary stage pupils, a list of dimensions of awareness of historical and archaeological places that should be developed among fourth-grade primary stage pupils, a program of visual activities in Social Studies to develop visual identity and awareness of historical and archaeological places among fourth grade primary stage pupils, a teacher's guide, a student's book, a test of visual identity, and a scale for dimensions of awareness of historical and archaeological places. The participants consisted of (43) fourth-grade primary stage pupils. Data were collected and analyzed statically. Findings revealed a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the mean scores of fourth grade primary stage pupils in the pre –administration of the visual identity test as a whole and its individual skill in favor of the post administration. There was a statistically significant difference at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of fourth grade primary stage pupils in the pre - administration of the scale of awareness of historical and archaeological places as a whole and for its individual dimensions in favor of the post- administration. There was an effective and educational important effect for using the visual activities program in social Studies on developing the visual identity and the dimensions of awareness of historical and archaeological places of fourth-grade primary stage pupils. Further recommendations and suggestions were provided. (Published abstract)
