The aim of this research is to identify the challenges faced by the faculty members at Tabuk University in conducting interdisciplinary research from their perspective (proposed perception). To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the descriptive survey method and designed a questionnaire consisting of 24 items distributed across two dimensions: challenges of conducting interdisciplinary research and developmental suggestions to enhance the process of interdisciplinary research. The research was applied to a random sample of 240 faculty members at Tabuk University. The research findings revealed several important results. The challenges faced by the faculty members at Tabuk University in conducting interdisciplinary research, from their perspective, were found to be very significant. The major challenges included the scarcity of research that addressed interdisciplinary topics, the limited availability of sources and scientific literature on interdisciplinary research, and the lack of awareness programs to promote a culture of interdisciplinary research in the university environment. On the other hand, the least challenging aspect was the difficulty of finding links between different disciplines. Furthermore, the results indicated a high level of agreement among the faculty members regarding the proposed developmental suggestions to enhance the process of interdisciplinary research at Tabuk University.
