The study sample consisted of (30) children from orphans residing in the Al-Amal Institute for Orphans, where the study sample was divided into two groups, namely: the control group which consisted of (15) children, and the experimental group which also consisted of (15) children. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used a self-affirmation questionnaire and a problem-solving questionnaire prepared by the researcher. The researcher also prepared a cognitive-behavioral program to improve self-affirmation and solve problems. The most important findings of the study: 1) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-questionnaire on the self- assertion and problem-solving improvement questionnaire attributable to the behavioral cognitive program in favor of the experimental group. 2) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-application of self-affirmation and problem-solving questionnaires, and the differences were in favor of the post-application in both questionnaires. 3) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the third group in the post and follow-up application of the self-affirmation and problem-solving questionnaires, and the differences were in favor of the follow-up application in both questionnaires. The most important recommendations of the study: The study recommends circulating the program to specialists who work with orphans in order to raise the level of self- assertion and solve problems for them. Al-Amal Institute for Orphans was also recommended to implement educational meetings and workshops aiming at self- assertion among orphans and helping them overcome problems in scientific ways. The study also recommended the need to follow up on children and provide appropriate programs that help them develop their personality and self-confidence, and the necessity of creating programs that improve their personal and social characteristics.
