بناء مقياس مهارات التعلم الذاتي أثناء التعليم عن بعد لدى طلبة المرحلة الثانوية بمدينة الطائف
The study aimed to create a measurement scale of self-learning skills during distance education among secondary school students in Taif, and to check the psychometric properties with regard to validity and reliability. The study relied on the descriptive approach. The self-learning skills scale consisted of (52) items in its initial form. Then, the validity and reliability of the scale has been checked by experts and it has been applied on a prospective sample of (460) secondary school students in Taif. It resulted in deletion and modification of some items, and thus the scale became in its final form consisting of (46) items. The Exploratory Factor Analysis EFA has been used to check the factorial construct of items distributed into four dimensions; (10) items for the dimension of dealing with media, (12) items for the dimension of self-awareness, (11) items for the dimension of cognitive strategies and (13) items for the dimension of interaction with others. The scale was applied in its final form on a stratified random sample of (806) students where the results showed acceptable psychometric properties with regard to the validity of the internal consistency and the validity of vocabulary discrimination, as well as the reliability of the scale by Cronbach’s alpha method and the reliability index in the case of item deletion and split-half. The study recommended the application of the scale as; a scientific tool to measure self-learning skills during distance education among secondary school students by the Ministry of Education, a measurement used by the secondary school teachers to know how much students have self-learning skills during distance education, and a way used by secondary school teachers to identify the axes of self-learning skills during distance education and to work on its development during teaching.
