This study aims at exploring the level of cognitive dissonance and its relationship with future thinking skills of the students of the Faculty of Education at Al Turba, Taiz University, Yemen. To achieve the objective of the study, the researchers have used the cognitive dissonance scale, which consists in its final form of (27) items. The future thinking skills scale consists of (38) items. The scale is divided into six main skills, namely: (prediction, future planning, imagination, future expectation, perception, and problem solving). The reliability and validity of the two scales are verified before applying them to the random sample of the study that consists of (104) students at the College of Education from the departments of The Holy Quran, Arabic, English, and Computer at Education College. The findings have shown that the level of cognitive dissonance of the members of the sample is high, whereas the level of possessing future thinking skills is low. The results have shown that there are no statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) is attributed to the variable of gender or major in the level of cognitive dissonance or the level of future thinking. The results have indicated an opposing correlation between the level of cognitive dissonance and future thinking of the members of sample. The study has proposed a number of recommendations and suggestions. (Published abstract)
